A list of common characteristics.
- They are night people, often on a biochemical level, producing sleep hormones in the brain at the opposite time of the day than most people do
- Drinking blood or drawing energy provides a kind of euphoria, peace, relief, relaxation and invigoration
- Feel weak, shaky and very thirsty when they do not obtain and consume some form of energy
- Heightened senses (improved night vision, hearing, smell, or touch) and increased speed, dexterity or strength
- Increased reflectivity of the eyes in low light
- Sensory extremes leave you feeling fractured (such as loud noises)
- Alcohol and other drugs affect you much more or much less than a normal person
- A dual personality (not relating to a mental disease) that emerges when you have a need for energy (experience very intense and passionate emotions that seem normal to you at the time)
- Drawn to the vampire image/mythos (yes, most real vampires were drawn to the media vampire at a young age, and sympathized with them, along with being drawn to blood, blood drinking and bloodletting)
- Migraine headaches
- Various gastrointestinal sensitivities
- Above-average intelligence
- Moves towards an alternate religion
- May have prolonged eyeteeth on bottom and/or top
- Sensitivity to sunlight (cannot tan, burns)
- Extremely sensitive eyes to everything from sunlight to moonlight
- Has astral dreams, frequent deja vu
- They can sense others like them, and things that others cannot see
- Loves rain, thunderstorms, and fog
- May be bisexual or be as such without using the label. Most vampires find both sexes attractive and have no problems with guilt or any moral issues about it
- Levels of vitality go up and down repeatedly throughout the day - one second they are depressed, the next they are quite active. (moodswings, dizziness)
- Unpredictable, moody, temperamental, overwhelming, intense.
- Have deep, fervent, and powerful emotions.
- Usually empaths, absorbing vibrations from everywhere, causing them to be emotionally unstable and often on edge - causing them to become abnormally depressed, grieved, calm, quiet, stressed or withdrawn.
- They are often loners, because they feel different from those around them, and because they have to control the amount of contact they have with sources of energy
- Have a distinct feeling that they are pulling or drawing energy or emotions from other people. This includes noticing that others are often tired or depressed within their presence, a sensation of phantom tendrils or attachments, experiencing a sense of fullness, a sensation of a pressure or inward suction in the solar plexus or above the bridge of the nose, a sense of sudden elation, euphoria, or increased vigor, or an odd optical illusion that the area around you has gotten brighter, a sense of energy overload in which you need to withdraw from social situations and be alone; and lassitude, weakness and depression when you're cut off from your usual social interactions.
